Overview
The SCU 200 is a control and signal conditioning unit for all 4…20 mA field devices, such as radar and guided radar level transmitters or pressure transmitters. It is designed to process measurement values for pump control or signalling, making it particularly useful in water and wastewater applications involving pumping stations or sewage sumps. Thanks to its integrated totaliser and volume conversion functionality, the controller is also an ideal companion for open channel flow measurement when used with the OPTIWAVE 1540 80 GHz radar. Additionally, it is well-suited for displaying and controlling silo or tank levels.
The SCU 200 combines control electronics with a configurable graphical display, making it especially effective for use with sensors that lack built-in displays or are installed in hard-to-access locations. It can power both 2-wire and 4-wire sensors, offering a robust and cost-effective alternative to complex PLC systems in basic applications. Unlike PLCs, the SCU 200 requires no time-consuming setup or additional power supply. Its integrated power electronics include a 4…20 mA output and up to three relays, eliminating the need for additional control cabinets or relay modules. With its 4…20 mA inputs, the SCU 200 supports the integration of virtually any 4…20 mA device, including flow instrumentation.
