The OPTIFLUX 5400 is a high-end electromagnetic flowmeter (EMF) equipped with a high-tech ceramic measuring tube, designed for very corrosive or abrasive fluids and conductive liquids even with a very high solid content. It is especially suited for demanding process applications in the chemical industry as well as the minerals and mining sectors, where high accuracy, advanced process and device diagnostics and wireless on-site verification are essential.
Thanks to its optimised flow sensor design, the flowmeter sets the industry benchmark for accuracy, zero-point stability and repeatability. This makes it also the ideal choice for master meter applications. Combined with the unrivalled surface hardness and finish of its wetted materials, the OPTIFLUX 5400 surpasses all conventionally lined EMFs in terms of long-term measurement performance and resistance to corrosion, vacuum conditions and thermal shocks.
The flowmeter also features an enhanced menu structure for intuitive and user-friendly operation. A broad range of configurable settings allows easy access to measurement data and diagnostics, such as empty pipe detection or conductivity changes. Diagnostic messages are color-coded in accordance with NAMUR NE 107 standards and clearly presented on the high-resolution, backlit display. In addition, the flowmeter is also equipped with a real-time clock, which enables event logging and analysis of the recorded diagnostics.
For its approximately 80 application and device diagnostics, the OPTIFLUX 5400 utilises OPTICHECK technology built-in. Next to continuous self-monitoring, the device offers wireless parameterisation, real-time measurement monitoring, and on-site verification via Bluetooth® in conjunction with the KROHNE OPTICHECK Flow Mobile app. A verification report can also be generated wirelessly at the push of a button – without interrupting production, opening the signal converter housing, or having to work in confined installation spaces. This significantly simplifies operation and maintenance, while also enhancing occupational safety.
The EMF can also be operated in the energy-saving EcoMode. This mode meets the increasing demand for sustainable and efficient energy use, allowing the meter’s power consumption to be significantly reduced – without compromising measurement accuracy.
